Polyethylene Coated Line Pipe (PLP)
PLP
Polyethylene Coated Line Pipe / Polyprophylene Coated Line Pipe
Features
Our Polyethylene/polyprophylene Coating Pipe offers the following excellent features.
A) Excellent chemical resistance
B) Excellent strength and impact resistance
C) Excellent electrical insulation resistance
D) Low water absorption
E) Wide range of service temperatures
F) Pinhole free homogeneous coating
G) Excellent adhesion
Manufacturing Process
This type of coating is applied by cross-head extrusion type of coating for small diameter pipes(1/2~16 inches), and side extrusion type of coating for medium and large diameter pipes (8~6 6 inches).
A) The external surface is shot-blasted (SIS 05.59.00 Sa 2 1/2) by removing millscale and rust, obtaining metal surface to facilitates the adhesion.
B) The pipe is heated in a electric or gas oven at a controlled temperature.
C) The adhesive is then applied by hot melt or copolymer. It binds the polythylene to the steel.
D) Immediately afterwards, the extruded polyethylene/polyprophylene is coated on the pipe.
E) After application of the polyethylene/polyprophylene, the pipe is cooled by spraying water.
Applications
Crossosion-resistant underground pipelines for the transport of Gas, Oil, Water, etc.
